I can't find any viewer fully supporting all the animations and other features in the current and last version of office. I need to know: 1. Does it exist 2. If it doesn't, when will it. If the only answer is to try and make sure you don't use any new features if you need people who do not own Office to be able to view the presentation as it was created we need to know so that we can find a better solution than powerpoint.

I'm fully aware of Sway and it is interesting for minor, more visual flow shorter presentations it does not meet the needs. I've only played with it briefly. I've looked at several quick tutorial youtubes.

I don't think "file size" is an issue for a couple of reasons. First, the app is entirely web based. You provide a link to the cloud source of the presentation. You don't need Office to run sway, just a browser on any size device, from 7" smart phone to a 4K monitor. Sway will automatically adjust the presentation elements to work with the graphics limits of the device.

Second, unlike powerpoint, the presentation is not about embedding files, images other content all into a single file. The demo's I saw were heavy on using internet based content copying from websites using "IFrame" links to the original source rather than making copies of the content, but you can also use content stored on the local device.

I did not see many text or formatting tools, but it does appear to provide enough for basic emphasis formatting. I did not see ANY image formatting tools, because it appears to expect the images videos to already be in essentially finished form using other tools. Yes, if you don't have an internet connection, it appears that Sway is hosed. I do not recall any mention of "offline" viewing of sways. So, if offline viewing is a requirement, that appears to be a deal breaker. I've searched plenty to validate there is no viewer that supports the new features in and beyond.

The link you found calling the viewer "" is not a Microsoft site and they are incorrect. If you click through you will see it is the viewer last updated in As for Sway, being a web-only app may mean that it is architected not to have to load the entire presentation in the way PPT does but again, it doesn't matter in this case as it doesn't do anything for the large presentations we already have and if we were to go off PPT for converting or creating new it wouldn't be to Sway as the options as you note are limited.

Oops, sorry. I should have followed that first link through instead of 'trusting' them. Turns out the 2 links lead to the same place, a viewer. These sites have options for the various versions of each application, ie Desktop vs Oneline vs Android vs Mac etc. I was looking for some indication that Microsoft actually sanctions the Uservoice website.

It's here:. Performing a who-is on Uservoice shows that it's administered by CloudFlare. Wikipedia's description of Cloudflare does not mention Microsoft, so apparently Microsoft contracted Cloudfare to handle all the incoming feedback.

My Avast! It complains about an "invalid certificate" if my browser even thinks about going to uservoice. I've seen my computer complain about certificates before, but this is the first time it has totally blocked a domain due to certificate issues.

So, uservoice is sanctioned by windowscentral. Interestingly, performing a who-is on windowscentral. But I guess we accept that WindowsCentral really is connected to Microsoft, somehow, and that if WindowsCentral gets user feedback from Uservoice, then Microsoft will probably see it Personally, I have always followed the advice of my installed security software, instead of circumventing it. So I am presently unable to go to Uservoice. Details required : characters remaining Cancel Submit 1 person found this reply helpful.

Online viewer is pretty much the direction Microsoft is heading since PPT Thanks for your feedback. How satisfied are you with this reply? Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. In reply to Rohn's post on September 24, In reply to Shyam Pillai's post on September 24, That is my guess but I'd like an official answer from MSFT employees as my old coworkers in other departments can't get an answer either. I'd be fine with the web viewer if it worked for anything other than minor presentations though it still creates an issue for when you're on someone else machine doing a presentation that may not have Office and an internet connection, or a reliable one.

In reply to 1CurtisB's post on October 1, In reply to Rohn's post on October 1, Which does not meet your needs That way replies can be specific to that error. And it makes it easier for MS to assign a submission to a specific development group or person. This site in other languages x.
